One of the most promising and anticipated titles from Electronic Arts,
FaceBreaker, can be enjoyed at this year's E3 event and the first thing that crosses your mind when you see it is, as I've said before: "promising!". You
can imagine that in such a case, the
Nintendo Wii version of the game will bring the action straight to your living room, allowing you to break your dad's, brother's or best friend's face without anybody getting too angry about it.
Subtitled K.O. Party, the Wii version of EA's IP will bring a different boxing action to your screens, with random power-ups dropping in the ring, with face modification making your fighter unrecognizable after the fight and many more. Of course, each boxer will have unique attributes and a distinct style of play, all of them having only one goal: make you enjoy it and laugh out loud while looking at the on-screen action.
According to Electronic Arts, the core fighting mechanic was developed with three keys in mind: responsive, approachable and layered. This means that full motion controls are supported and you'll need both the Wiimote and the Nunchuk to win a fight and enjoy the game's zany action. Because that's everything FaceBreaker: K.O. Party is about: limitless fun mixed with classic game modes, from one vs. one matches to full tournaments and team boxing matches.
And having all these in mind, we can honestly wish for one more thing (which is, unfortunately, very unlikely to happen): FaceBreaker on classic arcade systems! Just imagine how cool a game like this would be on such a system! But, since I don't see that coming anytime soon, we should be happy with our motion sensitive Wii or next-gen PS3 or Xbox 360 consoles.
Oh, and one more thing! If you're interested in buying the game, book a visit to the nearest game shop on the 11th of November this year, because that's when FaceBreaker: K.O. Party is scheduled to be released.
