If you live in Japan and want to get a flash drive one of these days, the Elecom MF-BSU304GBK may warrant at least a passing glance, especially if you care about safety.

It is not a large-capacity storage unit by any means. There are only 4 GB available.

On the other hand, there is 256-bit AES data encryption, as well as PASS (Password-Authentication Security System).

In other words, this is the sort of thing that businessmen can use to swiftly copy and bring along documents and presentations without worrying too much about losing trade secrets and the like, by misplacing it.

That the USB 3.0 connection lets data be transferred at up to 60 MB/s is a nice bonus.

The price is 1,580 JPY ($19 / 14.63 Euro), not too high when considering the safety measures.
