Tatiana Malinko, the principal figure artist working on The Elder Scrolls Online, says that the character editor of the coming MMO is designed to empower gamers and to allow them to express their personality.

She is quoted by Elderscrolls.net as saying that, “Due to the social nature of online role-playing games, players will spend a considerable amount of time interacting with other players, and will be seen by other players, so we needed to ensure that players have an abundance of control over the appearance of their avatars.”

ZeniMax Online does not want to compare the character creation in Elder Scrolls Online with that of Skyrim.

The studio is trying to cover the huge array of possibilities that are created by the fact that any armor can be worn by any character and that means that a lot of work was put into body proportions.

The Elder Scrolls Online will be launched on April 4 on the PC and in the summer on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
