The development team at ZeniMax Online and publisher Bethesda are ready to give fans of The Elder Scrolls Online more details about the design of the veteran dungeons that have been added to the MMO, with some hints about the content that will be included in the upcoming Crypt of Hearts zone.

In an official blog post the company explains that, "In Veteran Dungeons, we want to bring your group a worthy challenge, take you to incredible new places in and outside of Tamriel, and expand the stories started by the normal versions of our dungeons. Some of the most complex fights in the game wait for you in them, and you'll have to coordinate, learn strategies, and probably die trying several times before you achieve success."

The rewards for overcoming the tough challenges included are solid items for the character to use and story progress that's delivered via new events and non-player characters.

The developers say that all the veteran dungeons are designed to incorporate a lot of lore taken from the big Elder Scrolls universe and that the team has tried to include as much of it in the environment and the sounds, in order to make sure that players hear and see something new if they replay the areas.

The boss design is particularly important in The Elder Scrolls Online and in the upcoming Crypt of Hearts area the company wants to offer some interesting twists.

The company says, "In Veteran Crypt of Hearts, for example, you’ll come upon two familiar Xivilai performing a dread ritual on a Bone Colossus. Even though you’ve seen the characters and construct before, the challenge you’ll face is entirely new and much more deadly."

ZeniMax Online says that it wants the boss battles to be challenging and to result in deaths for some players but at the same time they want to make them feel fair and balanced.

That means that the studio is constantly listening to the feedback delivered by gamers on the forums and via other means in order to tweak The Elder Scrolls Online and create a better MMO experince.

Until now the team working on veteran dungeons has already tweaked the experience gain and the loot offered in chests based on info coming from the players.

The development team at ZeniMax Online is not yet willing to announce an official launch date for the Crypt of Hearts expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online.
