The development team at ZeniMax Online and publisher Bethesda announce that maintenance on both the North American and the European servers for The Elder Scrolls Online has been completed and that the MMO has been updated with patch 1.0.2.

The update is designed to fix a number of problems with the title and make sure that all the quests that were blocking progression for some players now function properly.

The official announcement from the two companies explains that the biggest changes include:

Alliance War

General Fixed an issue where siege weapons in Cyrodiil could have odd behavior after a crash.

Crafting & Economy General Fixed an issue where the game could crash when selling items to a vendor. Hireling goodie bags are no longer tradeable.

Dungeons & Group Content General Edited the names for a number of items found in dungeons. Sheogorath's Tongue: The cave boss now respawns at an appropriate rate. Elden Hollow: Chokethorn will now always agro you when he is engaged. Veteran Darkshade Caverns: Boss: The Engine Guardian's green phase now triggers properly.

The site offers more information on how other areas of the MMO have been modified in order to make the entire game experience better than it was when the game was launched.

ZeniMax Online is also adding a new warning, which explains that all items and other content attached to a character that is deleted will also be lost by the player.

The chat feature of The Elder Scrolls Online, which is very important in an MMO, has also been changed in order to make it easier for gamers to read the messages that they receive.

The developers are inviting all players who are currently engaged with the title to report any trouble they might be having on the official forums in order to make it easier to find and then eliminate all issues.

The Elder Scrolls Online has been playable on the PC for all those who have bought it and the game seems to be holding up well, despite the fact that ZeniMax Online and Bethesda have brought down both the North American and the European mega-servers two times already to deliver updates.

The two companies are already working on expanding the MMO, with the first zone to be added called Craglorn and designed to appeal to all gamers who are high level and want to get a more interesting challenge in either four- or twelve-man groups.
