The developers at ZeniMax Online and publisher Bethesda announce that they are getting ready to deliver a third major update for their The Elder Scrolls Online at some point in early August and are willing to offer gamers some details about the changes that will be made to the MMO.

The company says that it will be focusing on tweaks to the core guild system of the title, because it is one of the most important features for the overall player population.

ZeniMax Online states, "they provide the easiest and most fun way to meet new people, chat with groups while you’re playing, and are almost always the first choice when putting together a dungeon or PvP group. As such, we’re devoting a large portion of Update 3 to making sure that guilds are easy to create, fun to join and manage, and provide players with a social group that helps them in their journey through Tamriel."

This means that The Elder Scrolls Online will introduce special armor dyes, guild tabards, store locations that are open to the public, and a new difficulty mode for the Trials in the MMO.

There are also more traders who can offer access to special equipment and more ways for the various groups in the game to interact with one another and engage in competition.

The idea is to give gamers as much freedom as possible to customize their own character and choose how they want to show off the colors and the signs associated with the guild they are representing.

ZeniMax Online is also seeking to change the core combat experience in order to make it more fun for the general player population.

The developers explain that "this is a multi-pronged effort to tweak and fix dozens of different game systems to lead to a smoother, more responsive combat system. Similar to how we’re changing the Veteran System, we’ll make meaningful changes over time. We’re making changes to animations, audio, timing, server network optimization, and other factors to make combat more engaging."

The studio is also promising tweaks to the classes and their abilities and will offer a full list of changes at a later date.

The Elder Scrolls Online is a subscription-based MMO currently playable on the PC, which is also set to get versions for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
