The feature might be implemented in the final release of the MMO

A developer named Chris Gallizzi has added support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset to the current beta version of The Elder Scrolls Online and hopes to persuade the development team at ZeniMax Online to include the feature in the full release of the MMO.

The footage shows the game running with the VR hardware at between 65 and 75 frames per second using minimum graphical settings.

The developer says that this is just a quick modding solution and that developers should be able to increase performance and make it feasible to play The Elder Scrolls Online using Oculus Rift with decent settings.

Gallizzi says he contacted ZeniMax Online and Bethesda, but he never heard back from them, so he decided to make his work public in order to persuade the companies that VR support was a good idea.

The Elder Scrolls Online will be launched on April 4 on the PC and in the summer on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
