14 DAY TRIAL // In light of my late-November rant on how iTunes was killing me softly, I’ve stumbled upon some memes that pour enough hate on the app to make my post irrelevant.
I’ll admit Apple’s iTunes has been instrumental in making the iOS ecosystem into what it is today, and while it’s had a good run, I solemnly believe it should be put to sleep.
It’s had one too many failed UI refreshes, and it’s high time Apple’s web stores got individual layouts.
I’d suggest a unified App Store application that leaves the iTunes app (along with its media playing components) behind. An App Store with a bunch of tabs at the top saying iOS, OS X, iBooks, and so on. Big, fat tabs too, not like the indistinguishable buttons in the current iTunes Store.
I’m sure at least the characters in the gallery below would agree.
