Tomb Raider: Underworld is shaping up to be a pretty
good game, bringing everybody's favorite female heroine, Lara Croft, back in the spotlight of action adventure titles. The game will take Lara all around the world, from Thailand to Mexico and from the Mediterranean Sea to Scandinavia where she will explore the Norse mythology in search for the item called Thor's Hammer. Set to be released on
November 18 in the United States and on the 21st in Europe on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, the game will be published by Eidos Interactive.
The company has recently announced that the Xbox 360 version will also benefit from two new chapters that will be available as DLC (Downloadable Content) packs, and which promise to bring a lot of innovations for the game and to offer two very distinct gameplay experiences.
The first one, entitled Tomb Raider: Underworld – Beneath the Ashes, will be an extension of the action that takes place in the game and will offer new battles and challenges for our favorite adventurer. This pack will be available for download this winter, around Christmas and will offer fans of the great franchise something to be really happy about.
The second chapter, entitled Tomb Raider: Underworld – Lara's Shadow, will offer a completely different gaming experience, as opposed to the original game and Beneath the Ashes. It will give players the chance to control another character besides Lara, and to experience a new type of gameplay never explored by the franchise. It is set to appear in early 2009 and to complete the DLC content for Tomb Raider: Underworld.
It certainly is good news that the developers are already thinking of new ways to keep people interested in a game that hasn't even been launched. Sadly, Eidos has said that these two chapters will be exclusive to the Xbox 360 and won't make their appearance on the PS3 or on the PC. So this opportunity will definitely be a decisive factor for most customers.
