The development team at Eidos Montreal that created the recently launched Thief reboot says that the PC version of the game is designed to be more than a simple port and will include significant optimization for the platform.

Stephane Roy, a producer working on the title, is quoted by Gamespot as saying that, “Honestly, if you’re a PC gamer, you’re going to be in love with version. They are going to have a PC version, not a port, all the PC options you can imagine are there.”

The development of Thief on the PC was handled by Nixxes Software, a company in Denmark that also works on Hitman Absolution and Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

In March, the game will get support for the new Mantle API from AMD.

The new Thief recreates the classic stealth series using familiar elements, but an all new story and modern mechanics.
