I haven't written anything about Kanye West in a while, and I was actually starting to miss him. Kidding. I was just wondering a short while ago how come he hasn't done any ridiculously arrogant remarks in such a long time - and it turns out, he actually did. On his blog, the notoriously ego-ridden singer decided to share a little of his love for fashion with his fans. Trouble is, he managed to make the whole blog entry annoyingly self-centered, less about his understanding of fashion and his favorite clothes and designers and more about how he's worried that his arrival at a fashion show might cause a commotion. You know, because all the fans would jump out of their seats and stampede towards him. Well, here's a little of what goes on through Kanye's mind - in his own words and his own spelling.

"There's always a catch 22 in being a celeb … your motives are always questioned… but only time will show my true love MY FIRST LOVE is for fashion and I appreciate just being in a position 2 afford 2 be able 2 spend a week in Paris visiting shows. I wish everyone could have this experience, the new music you hear, the new people you meet and most of all the beautiful clothes! I understand that some designers don't want all that unnecessary commotion at there shows, that's what I mean by "I get a lot of attention"". Well, I think that was probably the last thing on the minds of the organizers at the fashion shows he attended, but who knows - we may all be woefully wrong. And what about his love for singing and his fans? Where in line does that fall, if fashion is so obviously number one?

"I never use my blog 2 clear stuff up", he added, "but this is so close 2 my heart I had 2 say something… Anyone saying something negative has it wrong, they've got me wrong… I just want 2 make great art on every level and fashion shows are one of the best forms of art in the world". If Kanye's love for fashion is authentic (and I don't see why he'd lie about something like that), I totally respect the fact that he sees it as a source of inspiration - but why does it all have to be about how the world revolves around his ego? Here's a though: I think Kanye and that lovely Avril Lavigne character should get together one day and talk about things. I'm sure they would get along just fine.
