ASUS' reputation of releasing models upon models of its Eee PC family of netbooks is well established among netbook enthusiasts. This is why the Taiwanese company stood by its reputation and has just announced the introduction of the Eee PC 1101HA-WP. As you have probably figured it out, this is basically an update version of the 1101HA Seashell netbook that the company introduced a while back. The update will provide users with a choice for Microsoft's well-appreciated Windows 7 operating system, which should ultimately improve the netbook's overall performance.

Available in both White Pearl and Black Crystal variants, the new 11.6-inch portable computer system has just made its debut in Asia and is expected to become available in the upcoming weeks. The major configuration change is the integration of Windows 7, although the new model also comes with a few hardware improvements, meant to sweeten the offer for those looking to go the netbook way, with one of ASUS's Eee PC systems.

According to PC Watch, the new netbook has been featured with 2GB of RAM, double that of the original model, seen at Computex, in June, and a 250GB hard drive. As far as graphics and processing performance go, the 1101HA-WP packs the same Atom Z520 processor and GMA 500 graphics chipset, which aren't the most appreciated solutions on the netbook market. Nevertheless, the entire configuration should provide you with about 8 hours of battery life, down from the rated 11 hours of runtime for the initial model.

With a 1366 x 768 WXGA LCD display and 3 USB 2.0 ports, card reader, wireless 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity, the Eee PIC 1101HA-WP is pretty much a standard netbook with Windows 7 flavor. Price wise, the netbook will go on sale in Japan, for about 54,800 yen or approximately US$610.
