ASUS certainly wants to draw your attention to its Eee PC Seashell netbook, especially since this netbook pioneer has put a great effort into making the Eee PC 1008HA a possible contender for Apple's MacBook Air laptop. That said, the Taiwanese company has recently launched a new dedicated website to one of its latest additions to the ever-growing Eee PC family, the aforementioned Eee PC 1008HA. The website is
designed to make you take a closer look at and even possibly purchase ASUS' pride and joy.
As some of you are already aware, the Eee PC 1008HA has been designed as a slim, ultralight version of the company's long list of 10-inch Eee PC netbooks. It packs the all-too familiar Intel Atom platform and comes with a unique, yet not so pleasant feature. More precisely, the Eee PC Seashell 1008HA netbook has been designed with an integrated, non user-replaceable battery pack, which makes the netbook more pleasant from an aesthetic point of view, but less practical in the overall run.
Nevertheless, ASUS feels it needs to invest heavily in the marketing of its latest Eee PC model, which is where the new website comes into place. With a single click on this link, you'll be able to tune in to a web page that already features a couple of videos, advertising ASUS' new netbook. In addition, according to the website, the system will soon be made available for users in the US and Canada, who will be able to place their orders on the websites of a number of retailers. On that note, the giant manufacturer also placed a countdown timer for those who want to know when they can place their pre-orders.
The Eee PC 1008HA is the first of a new series of Eee PC netbooks, as ASUS has already confirmed the launch of yet another Seashell model, the Eee PC 1005HA, which will be featured with a user-replaceable battery pack, as opposed to the first netbook in its series.
