The Computex Show, which will be held between June 3 and June 7, is going to bring a lot of highly expected products. ASUSTeK, which will be attending the computer show in Taiwan, is expected to globally launch its new Eee PC 901 notebook. On top of that, it appears that the company will also release the Eee PC 1000 series, a product that wasn't expected by any of the Eee PC fans.
ASUSTeK might be releasing the 10-inch version of their Eee PC 901 portable as a response to MSI's popular 10-inch display Wind. It is yet unclear what the 1000 series will bring as far as technical specifications go, but chances are it will only bring an increase in the display size, as compared to the 901 version. News about the possible release surfaced when UMPC Fever journalists received an invitation from ASUSTeK.
According to the invitation, the journalists are to expect the release of the Eee PC 901 and 1000 series. "ASUS is looking forward to welcoming you during Computex 2008 in Taipei, Taiwan, for the ASUS' 08 Computex Trilogy of launch events. We would also like to specially extend an invitation to you to attend the official global launch of the new Eee PC 901 and 1000 series.", read a personal note from Jonney Shih, ASUSTeK Chairman, which was included in the invitation.
No one can tell for certain how the Eee PC fans will react and if the two models are going to benefit from the same level of success. If the 1000 series is only going to bring an improvement in display size, then maybe the Eee PC 901 will slowly lose its popularity, that is if it receives any whatsoever. Still ASUSTeK deserves credit for creating a brand that has changed the face of the portable computer market.
