Norton makes SNL debut with hilarious opening monolog

Actor Edward Norton made his Saturday Night Live debut over the weekend and, to ensure he didn’t mess up anything, Alec Baldwin and Miley Cyrus were there to help him out with useful tips and words of unsolicited advice.

Check out Norton’s opening monolog in the video below: I am a huge fan of the actor and I might be a bit partial, but I think he was hilarious. His chemistry with Baldwin was obvious and made their banter particularly funny.

Speaking of Alec, the SNL veteran who hosted the show an impressive 16 times already, he popped up to offer him a few hints about what to do to make his debut go flawlessly. He also plugged his new show a bit, of course.

Baldwin made sure that Norton was up to date and well prepared with his celebrity impressions (which were hilarious, by the way) but stressed that the only way he could survive his first time as host on the show was if he followed Miley Cyrus’ 3 golden rules.

Miley strolled in (and boasted that she had a tour coming soon) and advised Edward to be himself, have fun, and not forget to stick his tongue out. The episode Miley hosted on the second week of the first season did excellently in the ratings so, if anyone should dish advice, she would probably be best.

Enjoy! My favorite joke was about how Norton is a Method actor and, as such, he needs a long time to prepare for a role. To get into the skin of an SNL host, he needed 13 years, he said.
