Edward Furlong, best known for his role in “Terminator” but also praised by critics for his harrowing performance in “American History X,” has been arrested at LAX for alleged domestic violence.

Furlong, who has a long history of drug and alcohol abuse, and is considered just one of those many sad cases of child actors who never make it as adults, also has a history of run-ins with the law.

The latest incident occurred in the early hours of morning at LAX, when he and his girlfriend got into a fight that seems to have turned physical at one point.

TMZ says that there are reports the two were having a very loud fight, when Furlong suddenly grabbed the woman’s arm.

When police arrived on the scene, there were visible marks on her arm, so the star was taken into custody on the spot.

His bail was set at $50,000 (€38,535) because of his already checkered past. After spending the night in custody, Edward emerged a free man afterwards, the same media outlet reports in a separate post.

“Edward Furlong was released from an LA jail last night following his domestic violence arrest – and he looked like a harbinger of death on his way out, wearing a Halloween-appropriate skull t-shirt,” the celebrity e-zine writes in the post suggestively titled “Edward Furlong Released from Jail... Looking Like Death.”

“The troubled ‘Terminator 2’ star was released around 6:30 PM on $50,000 [€38,535] bail. Officials will now decide whether to press criminal charges against the actor,” TMZ further notes.

Furlong hasn’t released any statement yet as regards the arrest but, considering his history, he probably has no intention of doing that – ever.

Whether he was under the influence of either drugs or alcohol at the time of the fight is also to be determined.

Either way, fans are saying, this is another example of how, sometimes, because they’re misguided, the best ones slip through the cracks.
