Blogger has been with Google for a long time now and it has remained one of the biggest websites on the planet. It didn't get a huge amount of attention for quite a while, but Google seems to be a lot more interested in its blogging platform lately.

It's gotten a fresh new dashboard, with plenty of improvements and a great new look. More things are on the way and now Blogger is getting with the times and launching a mobile app for the iPhone and iPad.

"Today we’re excited to announce the new Blogger app for iOS. With the Blogger app, you can write a new blog post and publish it immediately or save it as a draft right from your iOS device," Chang Kim, product manager at Google, wrote.

"You can also open a blog post you've been working on from your computer and continue editing it while you're on-the-go. Your blog posts are automatically synced across devices, so you’ll always have access to the latest version," he explained.

The Blogger app is geared towards publishing mostly, you can create new posts or edit existing ones on your phone or tablet and publish them from the app.

You can also save drafts and most of the adjacent posting tools are there. You can add photos, either existing ones from the gallery or new ones taken on the spot, you can add and edit labels and you can also geotag your posts.

That's the extent of the functionality, but that's actually a good thing, the app is focused on publishing and it does it quite well.

Google also has an Android version of the Blogger app, which has been around longer, but the two apps don't have the exact same functionality. Still, the Android version has more than 600,000 installs so there's clearly a lot of interest in a mobile app.
