Edit Native Excel Files on iPhone, iPod touch – Mariner Calc

Mariner Software has released its first iPhone and iPod touch application, Mariner Calc. The new app has been in development for more than a year, but now Mariner Software is proud to say that its app takes two decades of spreadsheet experience on the Mac and throws it all on Apple's popular portables. Most notably, Mariner claims, the app introduces the ability to view and edit native Microsoft files (.xls format Excel 97 and up) on the iPhone.

The developers of Mariner Calc believe their app is the perfect tool for iPhone business, on-the-road or home users who need to access Excel files. Mariner Calc supports 24 Math functions, 18 Finance Functions, 17 Trig functions, 13 Statistics functions, 14 Lookup Functions, 6 Logic Functions, 15 Date functions, 24 Text functions, and 14 Info Functions, “with many more on the way,” Mariner Software claims. The application also supports splitting panes and freezing, as well as creating borders and changing fonts, colors and alignment. To top it all, Landscape view (horizontal) is supported, as well as Portrait view (vertical).
