14 DAY TRIAL // The first official trailer for “Edge of Tomorrow,” initially called “All You Need Is Kill” and starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt as two soldiers caught in a time loop, has been released.
As usual, you can see it in full and in HD above.
Directed by Doug Liman and shot partly in London, the film is billed as more than just a mindless action flick. At Comic-Con in San Diego this year, Cruise and Blunt stressed that it would also have comedy and some real drama as well, and you can tell as much as that from the trailer as well.
Cruise plays a soldier who, during a raid against the aliens, gets stuck in a time loop, which means that he gets to die over and over again, after re-living the same events.
Luckily, when no one else believes him, Blunt’s character does and that’s only because she’s in the same situation. Together, they will train to become war machines and defeat the aliens.
“Edge of Tomorrow” comes out in June 2014. I don’t know about you, but I plan on catching it in theaters because, say what you will about Cruise the man / celebrity, but he makes one very convincing action star.
