Edge Tech Corporation just extended its line of ultra portable hard disk drives with the addition of several new models that come in both 2.5 and 3.5 inch form factors while being compatible with the most popular data transferring technologies of the day, USB and FireWire 1394 and offering storage capabilities of up to 1TB.

The DiskGo line of products is available in several
pleasant colors and the largest storage capabilities are met when talking about the solutions based on 3.5 inch hard disk drives. Ranging in storage capabilities from 160GB to 1TB, the DiskGo portable hard disk drive from Edge Tech also comes with price tags between $174.95 and $634.95 while sporting brushed aluminum covers that provide a high degree of integrity protection and an optimal level of cooling for increased reliability and product life.

Thanks to the many data transferring interface supported, the DiskGo portable hard disk drive from Edge Tech is able to connect to just about every host computer system. Supporting external Serial ATA, FireWire 800 (also known as 1394B), FireWire 400 (1394A) and USB 2.0 (backward compatible with USB 1.1), the new portable storage solutions are capable of reaching speeds of up to 3Gb per second (eSATA), 800Mbits per second when using 1394B, 400Mbits/s with 1394A and 480Mbits per second while using the slower USB 2.0 interface.

The internal hard disk drives are all featuring 7200rpm and they come factory formatted using the FAT32 file system. Because of the storage solution used by the manufacturing company an external power adapter is also provided along with the necessary data transferring cable for USB, FireWire 800, FireWire 400 and external Serial ATA.

The DiskGo portable storage system is designed to be plug and play compatible and it needs no specific driver in order to function so it is ready to roll out of the box, while being compatible with both x86 hardware and Mac computers. Thanks to the hard disk drive spin down integrated support, the DiskGo line is well suited for use with laptops and other portable media devices as it will power down when not in use and save energy.
