Eddie Murphy was forced to appeal in the case of his his pre-nuptial contract signed by ex-wife, Nicole Murphy, because of her claims.

Murphy's wife filled the divorce papers in August 2005, citing "irreconcilable differences." According to court documents, Nicole wants a big chunk of the actor's fortune. Therefore, the actor came with the pre-nup, signed by his soon-to-be ex-wife, "valid and enforceable".

Eddie also wants his children to be kept away from Nicole's boyfriend, business man Alan F Daniels. In the divorce papers, he insists: "Nicole Murphy shall be restrained and enjoined from having the children in the physical presence of Alan F Daniels".

The couple also battles over two New York homes, estimated at $37m (€31m), and a Beverly Hills, Los Angeles property, worthing $10m (€8.37m).

Eddie and Nicole met in 1988 at a NAACP Image Awards show. They have lived together for a year and a half before the actor proposed to her.

They were married March 18, 1993, at the Grand Ballroom of The Plaza Hotel in New York City and have five children together.
