Eddie Cibrian Sues Tabloid for Cheating Allegation

Eddie Cibrian may have separated from his wife after cheating on her with country singer LeAnn Rimes who, in turn, was also married at the time, but that doesn’t mean the old saying of “once a cheater, always a cheater” suits him like a glove. Consequently, the actor is taking a US publication to court over a story claiming he cheated on Rimes as well, as Extra can confirm.

The story that ran in Life&Style the other week says Cibrian was involved with another woman at the time he started the affair with Rimes. He and the woman broke things off shortly afterwards, but are now back together as he is only with LeAnn for the fame and the publicity their relationship gets. This means that, while still married to his estranged wife and officially dating Rimes, he is also seeing another woman, a claim his rep is adamant is false.

“Unfortunately Life & Style Magazine has chosen to go out with a story filled with inaccuracies and deceitful lies, presumably to titillate sales, but clearly resulting in harm to Eddie Cibrian and others. This is irresponsible and reckless journalism. Eddie has met with his attorneys and will be filing a suit for libel and other actionable grounds shortly. It’s a shame that Life & Style resorted to a story of this nature and they will regretfully now have to face scrutiny of untruthful reporting in a court proceeding,” a rep for the actor tells Extra in a statement.

No one from the magazine was immediately available for comment at the time this was made public. Cibrian’s rep wouldn’t say more on this either, but reports in the media have it they’re trying to make an example of Life&Style and will do their best to avoid a settlement out of court. The extent of the damages they’re asking for is yet to be made public.

“Not only had Eddie been cheating on his wife with LeAnn, he’d also been carrying on a three-year romance with 24-year-old aspiring actress Scheana Marie Jancan. Since then, Eddie’s slyly been playing the role of faithful boyfriend to rich and famous LeAnn. But Life&Style can once again expose him for the serial cheater he is. ‘Eddie has recently started seeing Scheana again,’ an insider tells Life&Style exclusively, noting that they were together on Oct. 21 around 1 a.m. ‘He told her he’s only with LeAnn for the publicity and that he plans to end things with her soon’,” Life&Style wrote at the time, as we also reported.
