Eddie Cibrian Cheats on LeAnn Rimes with His Ex-Wife

One of the biggest and most surprising celebrity scandals of last summer was that Eddie Cibrian was cheating on his wife Brandi Glanville with his co-star, singer LeAnn Rimes who was also married at the time. Since then, both Eddie and LeAnn got a divorce and have moved on with their life together but it could very well be that the saying “once a cheater, always a cheater” suits Cibrian like a glove, Ted Casablanca of E!’s The Awful Truth writes.

Star magazine has a story running in its latest print issue (photo attached) claiming that, though pretending to be happy with LeAnn and even agreeing to move in with her, Eddie is still playing the field – with his ex-wife nonetheless. Sources tell the tab that he and Brandi have been meeting in secret for some time now and that he’s been using this time to beg her to come back to him – which she doesn’t want. All this time, LeAnn is having her heart broken into a million pieces, the report suggests.

That is only partially accurate, Casablanca points out after doing some digging, including talking to the sources from camp Brandi telling this story. “The source close to Brandi insists the hookup happened... just not recently. Supposedly the late-night rendezvous was right after E and L went public with their relationship, but after the divorce papers. Sleazy, yes, but reportedly, LeAnn already knew about it, so she probably wasn’t exactly stunned when she saw the cover of this week’s Star. Supposedly Cibrian was the one who came clean about his extracurricular activities to Rimes. ‘LeAnn knew about it 100 percent,’ says our source. ‘Obviously, she was upset. Eddie and Brandi were intimate after he and LeAnn were together, but it only happened twice’ confesses the insider,” Casablanca writes.

After the confession, LeAnn reportedly forgave Eddie for the trespassing and agreed to continue with him. “Our source adds that once Brandi began dating her current boyfriend, real-estate mogul Mike Meldman, she stopped hooking up with Cibrian. Glanville and Meldman are still going strong says our source, and are currently on vacation in Idaho together. ‘Eddie wanted her back, but she was not interested,’ says the source close to Brandi. ‘There is no way she would ever take him back’,” Casablanca explains.

Reps for both Cibrian and LeAnn reacted to the story now in Star magazine, calling it false and defamatory. Eddie himself addressed the issue, saying that the story had been planted by his ex-wife in the media with the very purpose of ruining his relationship to LeAnn. On the other hand, Brandi Glanville refrained from making any comment on the entire “love triangle” situation.
