Ecuador's Coach seems to have found the perfect solution to make his team stun the football world at the next FIFA World Cup. The first, and most important rule of all, is this: the players are not allowed to have sex at all during the World Cup. Not only that, but they will have to end their sexual life - momentarily - with two weeks before the competition even begins. In other words, starting today, the Ecuadorian players will have to say "No" to any sexual pleasure, if they want to have a chance of being in the squad.
"What we need is some basic rules so that our national team will have the maximum amount of concentration this summer. But, in the same time, we have to succeed in maintaining a certain balance within the team, which is why it is imperative that the players can relax freely", said Luis Fernando Suarez. He was backed-up by his assistant, who said that sex can only harm Ecuador players during the competition.
"The players will certainly have more days off than the other national teams present at the World Cup, since they find themselves in a quite different situation. They were not allowed to bring their wives and girlfriends with them. There's nothing strange about this. This rule has always existed within the team", said the assistant coach, Armando Osma.
In the meantime, the Ecuadorian supporters are hoping that this measure will bring their favorites one step closer to the second round of the competition. It will certainly not be very easy to reach it, since Ecuador will face Poland and Costa Rica and, let's not forget about the host of this summer's competition and local favorites, Germany. So, if they start their "purification period" today, the Ecuadorians will have plenty of time to "focus" on their opening match against Poland, on the 9th of June.
