We don't know exactly what price NEC's LCD-AS192WM monitor will sport when it finally starts selling, but it won't be all that high, given its specs.

As this report shows, the product is an LCD monitor with LED backlighting, a TN film panel, the 16:10 aspect ratio and a native resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels (the main reason for this being considered an entry-level display).

NEC also disclosed the 1,000:1 contrast ratio, the response time of 5 ms, the brightness of 250 cd/m2 and the two video inputs (DVI and D-Sub).

The company even chose to build the monitor with materials simple to produce (lower carbon footprint) and without using mercury.

Finally, despite the lack of an IPS panel, the viewing angles are of 170 / 160 degrees horizontal/vertical.

There should be no price difference between the white LCD-AS192WM and the black LCD-AS192WM-BK.
