Eclipse is a brand with serious recognizance throughout the world. Empowered by Fujitsu Ten, Eclipse has released many acclaimed car amplifiers that have seriously raised the bar in the industry.

It was time for a radical change in the line of products and so Eclipse developed their latest series, running on the hyper-innovative ICEpower technology patented and made famous by another giant name in high-end audio, Bang&Olufsen.

The ICE power represents a new way to think audio signal amplification and it provides better audio with less power demands, higher compactness level and superior reliability. This is why the ICE power technology has started to be used in an increasing number of high-end audio equipments, from the professional use to the domestic environments and it gains more and more popularity.

As Eclipse themselves specify, "the analog signal is modulated into a PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) signal with the Controlled Oscillation Modulator (COM). Then after the power stage, this PWM signal feeds back into the Multivariable Enhanced Cascade Control (MECC) where it is compared to the original input signal and any differences are compensated for to eliminate power stage-induced distortion. The post output filter analog signal also feeds back into the MECC that compensates for output filter load dependent characteristics. The end result is superb sound quality free from conventional Class D limitations."

Among the new ICEpower amps from Eclipse are two monoblock units, one rated 1000W and the other 500W and two multi-channel amps which can be run in 4, 3 or 2-channel mode. The multi-channel amplifiers have their own built-in crossovers and both sport high and low pass filtering. Still there is no official data regarding pricing and immediate availability/dealers, but things will become clearer pretty soon.
