Video game developers BL-Logic and Paradox Development Studio announce a competition linked to their new title East vs. West: A Hearts of Iron Game, while also delivering a chunk of new screenshots associated with it.

The We Are the World competition challenges fans to create their own character, using whatever attributes they like, with the studios set to choose the most interesting of them to be used in the game world.

The grand strategy title takes place in the Cold War era, from 1946 to 1991, and will use the Clausewitz engine in order to simulate the way the biggest powers in the world interacted with one another and smaller states.

Diplomacy, economics, and military actions can be used to influence the game world and try to defeat the opposition without launching a global thermonuclear war.

East vs. West: A Hearts of Iron Game will launch in the first quarter of 2014 and a Twitch first look at the game is also available.
