Bored of brand vendors’ offerings and maybe looking to make an experiment in the computing department? French manufacturer EVI has just released a new stylish notebook called YziBook that weighs only 1.1 kg / 2.4 lbs.

The company is known throughout the old continent for manufacturing tablets, so they have taken all the expertise accumulated so far and applied it to this new laptop.

The YziBook features a 13.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixel resolution. EVI has packed an ARM Cortex A8 1.5GHz processor coupled with 1GB of RAM and GC800 GPU under the bonnet.

The notebook offers only 8GB of storage but users can increase it up to 32GB via SD cards. EVI has embedded HDMI out, two USB ports and an Ethernet port, as well.

An interesting aspect of the device is that it features a “dual-battery” meaning that there’s a battery users can take out and change quickly. More than that, there’s also a spare battery onboard, in case you experience power issues.

EVI says the laptop is supposed to provide up to 10 hours of battery life. Note that even with the additional battery, the manufacturing company has managed to keep the laptop very light and thin.

The YziBook is powered by Android so it offers access to the Google Play Store. Customers will be able to choose between black and white models, available for €199 / $269.
