Mobile phone carrier Sprint is currently gearing up for the release of its new 4G services based on Long Term Evolution technology, and for the launch of LTE-capable devices.

While the carrier has yet to confirm any official plans on the matter, some rumors suggest that there will be at least one smartphone coming from HTC to Sprint’s network.

The Taiwanese mobile phone maker was a Sprint partner for the launch of its WiMAX services too, and will help it attract users to the new LTE network as well.

In fact, rumor has it that HTC and Sprint might be set to unveil a new smartphone as soon as April 4th, during a press event already announced.

The guys over at Android Central claim to have specific information on what might be launched on that day, courtesy of an internal source.

According to the news site, a so-called HTC EVO ONE smartphone will be the first HTC device to connect to Sprint’s LTE network, and will be launched on June 6th.

The mobile phone should pack a 4.7-inch AMOLED screen capable of delivering a 720p resolution, along with a 1.5 dual-core Krait processor.

Moreover, it will also be packed with 16GB of internal memory, along with a microSD memory card slot with support for additional storage space, and with a 2650mAh non-removal battery.

On the back, the new device should feature an 8-megapixel photo snapper, complemented by a front camera for making video calls.

The specs list of this device would also include LTE and CDMA connectivity, along with Beats by Dre audio, and Google’s Android 4.0 OS with the new Sense 4.0 UI on top.

The smartphone is also said to be thin, and to be on its way to shelves in black and red. It also has a kickstand, rumor has it. Some additional info on the new device might be unveiled in a matter of weeks, so stay tuned for more on this.
