Canadian mobile phone carrier Rogers has made available for pre-order on two new handsets powered by Android, the HTC EVO 3D and the LG Optimus 3D, the first two smartphones in the world to offer support for the recording and playback of 3D content.
These two can now be seen on the wireless carrier's website
here, where users can also reserve one unit for purchase, or they can learn more info on these phones.
Users interested in the purchase of these devices will be able to pre-order
the EVO 3D for $149.99, while the LG Optimus 3D was made available for $99.99.
Those who would like to acquire one of the two would have to commit to a 3-year contract agreement to benefit from these price tags.
“3D technology is now available on the latest Android powered smartphones. 3D smartphones allow you to watch 3D movies, play 3D games, and even capture 3D photos and videos using 3D-enabled HD cameras – all without the need for 3D glasses,” the wireless carrier notes on its website.
“3D is available on two high powered, dual-core processor, 4G-enabled smartphones. Click on a device below to learn more or pre-order now,” Rogers continues.
For the time being, nothing was officially announced on the availability of these devices, but the wireless carrier notes that the pre-order period will end on August 15th, and chances are that the phones would be put for sale the very next day.
LG Optimus 3D was the first smartphone to be unveiled to the world with support for 3D content, back in January at the Consumer Electronics Show, while the EVO 3D was launched only a few months ago.
However, both of them sport dual-core application processors and dual-cameras on the back, as well as large touchscreen displays for viewing content on the go. Recorded videos can be easily stored on either their internal memory, or on microSD cards they can accommodate.
