The company introduced a new cooler design while it was at it

If anyone thought ASUS was noteworthy for launching more than just the reference GeForce GTX 780, they will probably go slack-jawed when they see what EVGA did.

Basically, the company has introduce not one or two, or three, but seven new graphics cards based on the GeForce GTX 780.

Not all the cards are available, and their specifications haven't been fully exposed, but they have all been neatly assembled on the company’s website. Some are factory-overclocked, while others aren't. Here is the list:

GTX 780 w/ EVGA ACX Cooler (03G-P4-2782-KR) GTX 780 Superclocked w/ EVGA ACX Cooler (03G-P4-2784-KR) GTX 780 FTW w/ EVGA ACX Cooler (03G-P4-3786-KR) GTX 780 Classified w/ EVGA ACX Cooler (03G-P4-3788-KR) GTX 780 w/ NVIDIA Cooler (03G-P4-2781-KR) GTX 780 Superclocked w/ NVIDIA Cooler (03G-P4-2783-KR) GTX 780 w/ EVGA Cooler (03G-P4-2780-KR)

The last three use the Blower Cooling, which, while impressive, is not really new. The first four, however, employ the ACX Cooler that has only just been introduced.

It uses double ball bearing fans, a heatsink with a volume 40% larger than normal, and a reinforcement baseplate (maintains a straight PCB).

Together, those assets bring heat down by 15% for the GPU and 7% for the MOSFETs, as well as 15% for the memory chips.

The fan blades, with their 700% higher strength, helped there a lot, as did the 20% higher efficiency (better air flow on less power).

All the while, the ACX Cooler somehow managed to be 25% lighter than competing dual-fan designs. Furthermore, the cooler has a lifespan of 12 years, four times longer than we'd usually expect.

The best way to check them all out is to simply go to the mini-site found here.

We imagine that the prices will be correspondingly higher than the $649 / €539 / £549 strapped to the original adapter.
