You can't get much faster memory than that

DDR4 DIMM slots for desktop PCs won't be available in 16 GB modules until at some point in 2015. Speed is a lot easier to grant, however, since overclocking is a passion of all RAM makers.

Not all motherboards can use the best memory in the world, however. This sometimes prompts certain companies to specifically announce compatibility with some great product or other belonging to someone else.

This is what happened with EVGA and G.Skill. EVGA has announced that all its motherboards based on the X99 chipset can handle the DDR4 G.Skill memory with 3 GHz clock.

Normally, DDR4 works at 2,133 MHz, which still allows it to perform better than most DDR3 units, even those overclocked higher.

However, DDR4 makers have to compete with each other somehow, and to date, D.Skill is one of the few, if not only, RAM makers with DDR4 set at 3 GHz. You'll find the products for sale under the Ripjaws brand name, as that is the one selected by G.Skill for its top-tier products years ago.

G.Skill's 3 GHz DDR4 memory has full XMP support (Intel Extreme Memory Profile).

You should even be able to overclock it further, and tweak the CPU clock as well, through the EVGA GUI BIOS.
