EVGA has just rolled out a new BIOS package targeted at its X79 Dark motherboard, namely version 2.12, which fixes the Bluetooth and MCU reset issues encountered with previous BIOS packages.

If you have been experiencing these problems, then save and extract the downloadable package, close all programs and processes that might interfere with the upgrade, and run the “Windows_Update.bat” file from the newly created folder.

Now, press any key to continue, select “Yes” at the User Account Control dialog, and then press the “Y” key to initiate the flash process.

Bear in mind that, during the installation, you mustn’t power off or reboot the system as this will crash the upgrade which will result into serious device malfunctions. Upon completion, the computer will automatically shut down (after a key is pressed).

At this point, you should turn it back on, go into the BIOS setup menu, and check the currently installed version in order to ensure a successful update.

If this method isn’t desired, you can also copy the extracted files onto a CD or formatted USB drive, run the “DOS_Update.bat” file from a DOS command prompt, and then press “Y” to start the upgrade just like above.

That being said, download EVGA X79 Dark BIOS 2.12, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and update your motherboard’s BIOS version. Also, check back with our website as often as possible in order to be up to speed with the latest releases.
