Coming to provide a platform for Intel's LGA 1366 central processing units, the EVGA X58 Classified3 motherboard has now been made official by its maker, featuring next-generation technologies and a the ATX form factor.

Since the X58 chipset supports socket LGA 1366 CPUs, this means that the X58 Classified3 can handle even the Intel Core i7-980X six-core central processing unit.

Compatibility with the most powerful CPUs on the market is not all that this high-end motherboard provides, however.

For one, the board features a black PCB (printed circuit board) and four PCI Express x16 slots, for multi-GPU 2-way or 3-way SLI configurations, as well as six DDR3 memory slots.

There are also six SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, making it possible to provide a desktop system with a very large storage capacity.

What is even more noteworthy, however, is that the platform comes with a pair of SATA 6.0 Gbps ports as well, plus a pair of USB 3.0 connectors.

These should ensure that any high-speed HDD, SSD, external or otherwise, as well as flash drives and any other USB-connected devices will perform at their best.

ECGA also threw in a 10-phase Digital PWM, a debug LED and overclocking features like voltage read points, CMOS, Power and Reset buttons and PCIe disable jumpers.

As for connectivity and I/O, the hardware maker made a point of implementing dual Gigabit Ethernet, the aforementioned USB 3.0 and 7.1 channel audio, among other things.

Other specifications include an onboard central processing unit thermal monitor, solid state capacitors, EVGA Evbot support, EVGA ECP V2 Support and 14 USB ports in total.

Those interested in a first-hand view of this board's specifications need only visit the official website by following this link. As for those interested in buying it, they will have to be ready to part with $379.99.
