Today, EVGA has released new BIOS packages developed for its Z97 chipset-based motherboards, namely version 1.07 for the Z97 Stinger unit, as well as 1.06 for the Z97 FTW and Z97 Classified devices.

For all three boards, these newly-released updates add overclocking support for Intel’s Pentium G3258 processor, improve CPU P-State functionality, and resolve the USB halt problem.

Moreover, the Pentium G3258 processing unit also receives a new CPU Voltage Ring Ration option, and in addition to the aforementioned changes, the Z97 Classified motherboard gets its XMP support and memory compatibility improved.

As for applying these BIOS packages, first check the currently installed version to ensure it isn’t either newer or matching the present release, and only afterwards save and extract the appropriate downloadable archive for your device.

Now make sure to load the BIOS default settings (do not flash on overclocked settings as this may cause serious malfunctions), close all programs and processes that might interfere with the installation, and run the “update.bat” file from within the newly-extracted folder.

All you need to do now is to press “Y” to initiate the update process and wait for the new BIOS to be applied. However, bear in mind that during the installation you mustn’t power off or reboot the computer so that no problems are encountered.

With this in mind, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your EVGA motherboard, get the package, and upgrade your BIOS to the latest version. Also, check back with our website as often as possible in order to stay “updated one minute ago.”
