EVGA, one of the most recognizable names in the market for graphics cards and computer platforms, is expected to announce a couple of new motherboards designed on the high-end Intel X58-based chipset. The two boards, which boast similar designs but come with different form factors, have been dubbed X58 SLI LE and X58 SLI Micro, both of which will provide users with support for Core i7 processors and NVIDIA's multi-GPU SLI technology.

According to a post on the company's forums, citing a Fudzilla article, the two upcoming boards will be coming in the near future and join the already launched EVGA X58 SLI Classfied and the X58 SLI, both of which are meant for high-end users and are fully capable of supporting NVIDIA's SLI technology. This enables PC enthusiasts to combine the performance of NVIDIA's GeForce GPUs with that of Intel's Nehalem-based Core i7 processors. However, the new boards have been designed for a much wider, mainstream market segment that can take advantage of the features of Intel's X58 platform, but for a price tag that should end up below the US$270 mark.

Slated for availability later by the end of this month, the X58 SLI LE comes as a full ATX motherboard with an LGA1366 socket, six DDR3 memory slots with triple channel support, six SATA 3.0Gbps ports and a multi-GPU support, thanks to the four PCI-Express X16 slots. The other new X58 motherboard, dubbed X58 SLI Micro, comes in a smaller and compact Micro-ATX form factor and provides roughly the same technical specifications as its bigger counterpart. However, this model is equipped with only two PCI-Express x16 slots and is expected to become available sometime next month.

Additional features of the two motherboards include a 7.1 channel audio and a debut LED for overclocking enthusiasts.
