EVGA's Precision, the well known graphics card overclocking tool for GeForce 6, 7, 8 and 9 series cards, has just received a fresh update. Quite a rich list of features comes along with the
new Precision 1.3.0. The application allows users to easily tweak the core or fan speeds of their graphics card in order to fit their preferences.
The EVGA On-Screen Display Server has been updated to version 2.7.0. More aggressive hooks unload
routines are used by the new server, which minimize the situations when the system requires reboot during server uninstallation. The reboot prompts displayed by the uninstaller have been added more detailed warnings. Also, when G15 software is dynamically started or restarted, the output can be restored to LCD display through automatic re-connection to Logitech G15 LCD display. Third party skin creators have more freedom as the profiles panel visibility button now physically toggles visibility of each profile slot.
The hardware monitoring module flexibility has also been improved. Rarely used graphs can now be optionally disabled, while the graphs order can also be changed. Each graph allows users to enable individually On-Screen Display, Logitech keyboard LCD display and tray icon monitoring support. The individual configuration for tray text color for each graph has also been enabled. There are four predefined raster fonts for Logitech keyboard LCD display output available, and users can add their own raster fonts if needed. Optional framerate graph has also been featured.
The "Show user interface hints" option does no longer control the floating tooltips based help system. A separate "Show user interface tooltips" options has been added, allowing users to disable the hint icons and floating tooltips independently. The new "Lock profiles" button enables the protection of the profiles against unwanted modifications via either keyboard or graphical user interface.
An override tracking system now featured by Precision allows it to detect external attempts to override tool's settings like overclocking via third party overclocking tool, and also allows the restoration of original Precision settings either automatically or manually, depending on the tracking mode the user selected. Memory clock frequency detection is now available when switching to PCIE bus clock. Precision is also able to display the correct idle 100MHz memory clock frequency on GeForce GTX 260 / 280 series graphics cards.
Other internal code cleanups and optimizations have also been included in the update.
