The new update improves SATA performance and overclocking stability for the supported motherboards

Today, EVGA has made available a new BIOS update targeted at all three Intel X99 chipset-based motherboards included in its lineup, namely version 1.09, which improves SATA performance, overclocking stability, and 2400MHz memory compatibility.

In addition to that, the supported X99 Micro, FTW, and Classified device models also get the PCIe event log error resolved if the new build is applied.

In order to do so, first save and unzip the appropriate archive for your motherboard, go into BIOS in order to load the factory defaults (flashing must not be performed on overclocked settings), and close all programs and processes that might interfere with the upgrade.

Now run the “update.bat” file from within the newly created folder, press “Y” to initiate the flashing process, and allow the computer to do the rest. Upon completion, the computer will automatically shut down.

However, if the upgrade cannot be performed under a Windows OS, then save the archive content onto a USB drive (FAT32 format), go to BIOS Menu > Save & Exit > Select BIOS File, and select the .bin file.

Either way, bear in mind that during the installation you mustn’t power off/reboot the system as this will cause serious device malfunctions and might even brick the motherboard.

Moreover, BIOS upgrades shouldn’t be performed when the newer version doesn’t bring fixes or improvements that you can specifically make use of.

That being said, from the links below, follow the one that best describes your device model, take into account all aforementioned aspects, and upgrade the BIOS to the latest version.
