As most of you already know, last Tuesday, the Santa Clara-based graphics manufacturer, NVIDIA, finally decided to release the latest GeForce cards, the 9800GTX+, 9800GT and 9500GT. Following the official launch, a number of the company's board partners, including EVGA, also announced their versions of NVIDIA's latest GPUs.

Most NVIDIA fans are aware of the fact that EVGA is one of the company's best channel partners, as their products have constantly succeeded in providing impressive graphics performance. EVGA is also among the enthusiasts' favorite because of its factory overclocked NVIDIA-based cards. So, naturally, each time this manufacturer releases a new product, users take the time to check out what the offer brings.

Speaking of which, EVGA is currently offering four different 9800GT-based graphics cards, two of which are built on the company's AKIMBO series. These two are provided with a custom, dual-slot cooler, and have the same clock rates for the GPU, Shaders and Memory as any other standard GeForce 9800GT card. The only difference between the two is the amount of graphics memory you will be able to benefit from, with one of the cards offering 512MB of GDDR3, while the other doubles that.

If you are wondering why a card that comes with standard clock rates is interesting, the answer is simple: because it doesn't equip a stock cooler. This ultimately means that users will be able to overclock the card by themselves, a practice which most enthusiast users take pleasure to indulge.

There's only a $20 difference in the price of the two cards, with the 512MB version being set at $179.99, while the 1GB model sells for $199.99. According to the manufacturer's website, of the two new AKIMBO 9800GT-based cards, the 1GB version is the only one that's available in stock at this point in time.

EVGA can also provide you with a "Superclocked" version of the 9800GT card, which goes for $169.99 and has a GPU speed of 650MHz, while being equipped with a single-slot cooler.
