The Council of Stellar Management, the player led advocacy group that advises developers CCP on the potential progress of their MMO EVE Online, has released information from the December discussions, showing how the game might change in the near future.

The developers have stated that they are aiming to create new content that appeals to different types of players, offering updates that are attractive for those who are just now joining EVE Online while also taking into account the needs of those who have been playing for five or more years.

The CCP team also believes that some of the game systems also need to be completely overhauled instead of getting constant patches and that a new live engineering group has been created in order to evaluate the needed changes, independent of the game development.

The company has also created a new entity called the Eve Security Task Force, which is designed to help combat cheaters and hackers, which have begun to be active in EVE Online after the developers have introduced real money trading for in-game currency.

CCP has also announced that Unifex is now working as senior producer on EVE Online, with previous incumbent Zulu now moving on to other projects.

The members of the player elected Council of Stellar Management have also expressed their views on the PLEX, subscription time that can be bought with real world money, on a possible new program which will reward long term subscribers and on the proposed changes to the election process.

EVE Online is unique among MMO projects because all players share the exact same universe and there’s a distinct focus on human interaction in the game mechanics.

The developers at CCP are working on delivering new content for the game while also creating new vampire based project World of Darkness.
