Developer CCP has just released the details of the upcoming EVE Fanfest, the tenth edition of the annual celebration of EVE Online players, taking place next week in Reykjavik, Iceland.

The entire event is outlined in a massive developer blog post on the EVE Online forums, detailing everything that potential attendees of Fanfest will be able to see and do next week.

The huge, three-day-long celebration will take place from May 1 through May 3 and will feature several unique events to go along with the programming, round tables, and sessions that EVE fans are already accustomed to.

An official EVE monument will be unveiled in Reykjavik’s harbor the night before the Fanfest begins, the World Within a World monument being dedicated to the countless loyal fans who made EVE's first decade possible. If you want to learn more about the outdoor sculpture, visit the monument page on the EVE website.

Next, the EVE of Destruction battle will pit 10 CCP developers and special guests against undefeated world-class MMA fighter Gunnar "Gunni" Nelson, in back to back submission fights.

This year's Make EVE Real session will have physicist and NASA technologist Les Johnson offer a presentation about how mankind can overcome the challenges of interstellar travel, talking about how we will someday be able to visit and settle other habitable planets using technologies that don't violate the known laws of physics.

The event will host a ton of announcements regarding the future of EVE Online, Dust 514, and EVE: Valkyrie and will have hands-on demos of all three games for participants to try out, as well as more EVE universe news and surprises.

The entire event will culminate with the legendary Party at the Top of the World, featuring three stellar musical acts, the founder of the mash-up movement, Z-Trip, local pop-electronica band FM Belfast, kicking off its European tour at the festival, and Asgeir, the fastest-selling artist in Iceland's history.

Additionally, for those who are not able to make it to the festival, the entire EVE Fanfest will be livestreamed for free on CCP's Twitch channel, as well as available for purchase in HD.

Before the festivities begin, a special Pre-Fanfest Livestream will be held on April 24, at 18:00 GMT, on CCP's Twitch channel, featuring the lead game designer and executive producers of EVE: Valkyrie and Dust 514, who will be talking about all things related to the EVE universe.
