The team at the Paradox Development Studio is ready to deliver the first diary for the upcoming Art of War expansion for Europa Universalis IV, which is designed to introduce a number of new features for those players who like to dominate their rivals by force.

One of the major aims of the studio is to make the entire world as detailed as Europe, and that means that plenty of new nations and provinces are being added to the map, but the entire grand strategy experience will run at the same speed as it does at the moment.

When Art of War is launched, India will consist of more than 152 provinces, compared to the 77 it has at the moment, and the country also has more manpower and tax revenue in order to make it somewhat easier to administer the new areas.

Paradox states on the forums that “This means both that there is a whole lot more to do for the tags in the area themselves and there can be more historical competition for the ports of the region. It also means the region is more differentiated. You can more clearly tell which areas are rich and which are poor. Along the way some changes have been made to the general setup as well as some new additions in the form of tags, cultures, etc.”

The team goes through each area of India as included in Europa Universalis IV – Art of War in order to offer fans clear information on the province changes and how they will affect the gameplay.

There’s a wealth of details gamers can learn about the various new states that they can control, depending on the circumstances, and there’s a lot of history included in the post.

Because India has so many new provinces, the developers have also introduced a new trade system for the coming expansion.

Paradox adds, “The new setup has the added benefit of portraying the trade links of the subcontinent a lot better than the old one did. The Indian interior (the Doab node here) nicely incorporates the grand trunk road into the game, while the southern coasts are divided into the historical zones of competition for more distant traders.”

Europa Universalis IV – Art of War is also designed to significantly change a range of other world areas.

The expansion for the grand strategy title will be offered on the PC, but does not yet have a launch date.
