The annual ESPN Body Issue is an ode to the human body. Nay, it’s an ode to the perfect body of professional athletes, be they NFL players, swimmers, tennis players, or boxers. The 2013 issue will be out this Friday.

Above is one of the portraits that will be included in the spread of the new issue, featuring gorgeous NFL player Colin Kaepernick. Obviously, the photo has been cropped, lest some of our readers find offense with it.

If you feel like you can’t wait until tomorrow, the official ESPN page includes plenty of other stunning portraits and behind the scenes videos with some of the stars photographed.

Unlike in previous years, they are somehow lesser known.

Driver Courtney Froce, Olympian Kerri Walsh Jennings, NBA star John Wall, boxer Marlen Esparza, X Games rider Tarah Gieger, UFC fighter Miesha Tate, and others will show off their impeccable bodies for the camera for the special issue.

With this, I invite you to “to unapologetically stand in awe of the athletes who’ve pushed their physiques to profound frontiers,” as ESPN says.
