The former football player blames hackers, but some say he "hacked" his own account

The verified Twitter account of former American professional football player Mark May (@mark_may) was allegedly hacked a few hours ago.

Tens of tweets have been published on the ESPN football analyst’s account on Wednesday. At some point, he published a tweet which informed his followers that a “vile coward” hacked his account.

He assured everyone that “legal is following up and charges will be filed to the Fullest extent.” Later, he even changed his password.

However, as Awful Announcing highlights, it’s possible that Mark May hacked his own account. That’s because all the tweets posted by the “hacker” appear to be the messages from May’s own Twitter drafts folder.

Other than some old football-related messages, nothing else was posted on his account – no links to malicious websites, no trolling.

So was Mark May really hacked or is he using the “I was hacked” excuse to cover up his own mistake?
