ESET has released an update for the Smart Security suite (reviewed here), incrementing the build number to ESET 6.0.314.0. The modifications available in this revision include a small batch of repairs and introduce support for Windows 8 in the case of SysRescue.

SysRescue is a Linux-based rescue environment that users can boot into using a DVD or USB drive in order to scan and clean an infected system.

The problems solved in this revision of ESET Smart Security refer to Anti-Theft module not being able to send captured screenshots in some cases as well as crashes of the Outlook 2013 plugin. Also, error handling should be better when configuring Anti-Theft component.

The developer also notes that the experience after upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8 has been improved.
