An updated flavor of the ESET Mobile Security application is now available for download to the owners of Android-based devices as part of the latest Beta test program from the company, with an improved interface and other enhancements.

ESET is a global leader in proactive digital protection, with 10 years of consecutive VB100 awards for the ESET NOD32 technology.

The new generation of the ESET Mobile Security beta for Android smartphones and tablets promise an upgraded experience to all users, along with full integration of Anti-Theft into the web interface of my.eset.com.

Courtesy of the new functionality, users will be able to register to the company’s website, pair their device, and then remotely wipe all info on it, including files on the microSD card, in the event that it is lost or stolen.

“With the new feature, after registering on my.eset.com and pairing the device, the user will be able to remotely wipe all stored information including SD card; track device location; trigger remote siren; create front/back camera snapshots or send customizable on screen message to a potential finder,” ESET explains.

At the same time, the phone will send its last position to my.eset.com when its battery is getting critically low, so that users would know where it was if its turns off.

“In addition, the new version of ESET Mobile Security BETA provides several engine improvements including On-charge Scan; ignore list for whitelisting threats; editable scan log and a host of fixes and improvements,” the company announced.

At the moment, the ESET Mobile Security Beta is available for download as version 3.0.529.0, though users interested in getting a taste of it will have to join the company’s beta testing community.

For that, they will have to head over to this page on Google+ and hit the Join button. Then, they will have to access this link to join the ESET Mobile Security BETA Test, where they will need to hit the Become a Tester button to receive access to the actual download link.
