Many argue that pieces of malware designed to target Mac computers are not really an issue yet, but as recent events have shown, there’s a clear evolution in these types of malicious elements.

For instance, last year, over 650,000 Apple computers were infected with the Flashback Trojan. In addition, pieces of malware designed to target Mac computers have been used in the recent attack against Facebook.

Security firm ESET has released an infographic (see gallery) and a video in which Security Intelligence Program Manager Pierre-Marc Bureau shares some thoughts about Mac malware.

According to the infographic, the number of Mac threats has grown considerably over the past few years, which is not really surprising considering that the Mac user base has also increased.
