EPI has just announced the availability of two new products in the Envision brand, the 19-inch Envision G917w1 and the 22-inch Envision G2219w1. Although EPI has not succeeded in making a name out of its
monitor lineup, the new additions seem to feature above-average specifications at reasonably set prices.
Both the 22-inch Envision G2219w1 and the 19-inch Envision G917w1 are certified for use with Microsoft Windows Vista Premium and, at the same time, they are compatible with all of the generic PC and Mac operating systems. Their widescreen design maximizes the available screen space and boosts productivity.
The 22-inch Envision G2219w1 boasts a maximum resolution of 1680x1050 and a contrast ratio of 1000:1. Although the resolution is high enough to enjoy the 1080p HD quality, the 1,000:1 contrast ratio is pretty common these days. The smaller, 19-inch Envision G917w1 model comes with a maximum resolution of 1440x900 pixels and an impressive contrast ratio of 3,000:1, much higher than the 22-inch model.
The two displays feature a response time of 5 millisecond, that is fast enough to prevent ghosting and blurring during fast-action programming or video games and especially during live sports transmissions. Both models come with DVI links and a HDCP connector for receiving the High Definition (HD 720p/1080i) signals. Unfortunately, there is no DisplayPort link for your future video card, but this is rather found in more expensive products from Dell or Samsung.
The displays are enclosed in a glossy piano black cabinet that can be seated either normally, on the desktop, or directly mounted on a wall for maximized space management. Both models will become available worldwide starting April 2008. The 22-inch Envision G2219w1 will be available for an estimative price of $270, while the smaller 19-inch Envision G917w1 display will sell for $200.
