Will become available at the end of the ongoing month

EKL is said to have decided that this was a good enough time to reveal the impending arrival of its newest CPU cooler, one that works for both Intel and AMD CPUs.

One may have noticed something of a news scarcity now that IFA 2011 is over and done with, but it looks like rumors and reports about some product or another, not just press releases, are still showing up.

One item that this particular report claims it is almost ready to make its appearance bears the name of Alpenfohn Himalaya.

For those that aren't overly familiar with the Alpenfohn brand, it is, basically, the pride and joy of the company known as EKL.

More than one cooler has been given this moniker over time, and it appears that the latest successor to the 'ultimate performance' and 'ultra low noise' line is now ready to debut.

Granted, the report that reveals this doesn't actually say that the item is up for sale, only that it will soon be, by the end of the ongoing month in fact (September, 2011).

Until then, prospective buyers will have time to gather up the 59.90 Euro necessary to make the purchase.

With a heatsink measuring 140 x 164 x 55 mm (asymmetrical), the cooler has a copper base, which pulls heat out of whatever CPU it is strapped to.

Said heat is taken to the large heatsink through six U-shaped heatpipes, leaving it to the Wing Boost fan (with a diameter of 140mm) to disperse it.

Said spinner has a rotary speed of 300 to 1,100 RPM (rotations per minute) and, consequently, a variable sound output (10 to 19.4 dBA).

As for actual CPU support, users will be pleased to know that the EKL Alpenfohn Himalaya works with not just Intel LGA 775, LGA 1155 and LGA 1366 CPUs, but also AM2(+), AM3(+) and FMI chips from Advanced Micro Devices.
