However, Indian handset manufacturer have to compete with companies from other emerging markets as well, such as China.

Well, it looks like Hong Kong’s EKEN Electronics has just announced the upcoming availability of the LEOPARD series of Android tablets.

The slate will be available in no less than five variations: 7-inch, 8-inch, 9.7-inch size, as well as 3G and GPS models.

According to NDTV, the manufacturer signed an agreement with Aldous Glare Trade & Exports (AGTE) for an exclusive national distribution of the entire series of EKEN tablets in India.

EKEN expects to sell around 10,000 units per month by the end of the year only in Kerala.

The tablets will have the same amount of storage (8GB) and will provide users access to more than 600,000 apps and games via Google Play store.

In addition, the slates will come with 1.3-megapixel front facing camera for video calling, microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), as well as support for 3G dongles and Wi-Fi.

EKEN LEOPARD also features 1080p HD video playback capabilities. No other info on the slates’ specs sheet have been provided for the moment, but stay tuned for more updates on the matter.
